MAHERAS THE GREAT KNIFE

Maheras brings together two clown-puppeteers, a live musician, and a puppet in a quiet, intimate exploration of our relationship with Death — and the solitude created by what remains unspoken between us.

Through the ritualistic preparation of an embalmed body, the performance unfolds as a tender act of care rather than fear. Poetry, music, and delicate gestures guide the audience into a space where silence speaks, and where intimacy emerges through restraint.

At its heart, Maheras asks a simple yet unsettling question:

If we fear death, how do we choose to live the time that remains?

Balancing humour, fragility, and tenderness, the work invites reflection on presence, connection, and the cost of silence in our relationships.

“Death… the fear that stays near.that’s the beat we hold dear.
Solitude… what a storm we grow inside. And
Time… always there, repeating… side by side.”
