Eirini Patoura

Eirini Patoura is a director, performer, puppeteer, clown and educator working across theatre, opera, visual performance and pedagogy. Her practice sits at the intersection of movement, object, image and silence—where bodies, materials and space speak before words. Born in Greece and based in Paris, she works internationally across Europe, Asia and Australia.
After studying theatre and contemporary dance in Athens, Eirini moved to Paris in 2011, where she completed her training at École Jacques Lecoq (2011–2013). There, she developed a physical language rooted in play, rhythm and transformation—an approach that continues to shape her artistic and pedagogical work. Her professional trajectory has been shaped through long-term collaborations and intensive research with leading European figures in puppetry, physical theatre, masks and movement, including Philippe Genty, Jean-Louis Heckel, Eric Bass, Stefano Perocco, Thomas Leabhart, Wim Vandekeybus and Peter Brook.
Her work explores fragility, humour and resistance—often through puppetry, clowning and visual dramaturgy—creating performances that move between the intimate and the epic. Eirini has performed and created for national theatres, opera houses, international festivals, refugee camps and public spaces across Europe, Asia and the UK.
As a director and performer, she collaborates with companies such as World Wide Lab, La Cooperative, Anima Théâtre, and FixPoint Company, and has worked under directors including Johanny Bert and Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota. Her recent and ongoing projects include touring productions presented at National Theatres and Operas in France and Greece.
Alongside her artistic work, Eirini is deeply engaged in transmission. Since 2016, she has been teaching and designing pedagogical programs, working with conservatoires and institutions such as Théâtre de la Ville de Paris, École de Théâtre Candela, and the National University of the Arts in Taipei. Her workshops focus on physical presence, imagination, object manipulation, clown, bouffon and collective creation.
In 2020, she founded FixPoint Company, a platform for creation, research and education in contemporary physical and visual theatre. Through FixPoint, she continues to develop original works while expanding international workshops, artistic collaborations and educational programs.
Today, Eirini’s practice extends internationally, between Paris and Australia.
